On the 9th April 2022, Sricharan Faeq Biria left his body. He inspired thousands of students with Guruji’s teachings, by his commitment, dedication and devotion to BKS Iyengar.
 
Faeq Biria travelled extensively in India to study eastern philosophy and yoga and in search of a Guru. After many years of searching, he met BKS Iyengar and from thereon he followed Guruji’s teachings diligently and with devotion and practised intensely. He accompanied Guruji on tours across the world. He established the Iyengar Yoga Centre Paris and then travelled extensively throughout Europe to teach and establish teacher training programs. BKS Iyengar then instructed Faeq to teach and to train teachers in countries with very few students including South America, Russia and China. He also assisted Guruji with editing many of his books including the Asta Dala Yoga Mala.  
 
His passing is an immense loss to the global Iyengar Yoga community. We express our sincere condolences to his wife Corine and daughter Constance.
